This mountain is located in the Big Bend National Park, Texas. I use color and line to express the power I feel radiates from the experience of walking in the desert at the foot of this mountain.
Blue Bonnets blanket the Chihuahuan Desert floor during good rain years, but I wanted to show support for the Ukrainian people fighting for their freedom. Thus the colors of their flag.
One of my favorite views of the Rio Grande is from the Mesa de Anguilla trail in the Big Bend National Park. Horses along the border freely move back and forth to find the best grass.
I have done a series of paintings featuring native plants and their adaptive ways of surviving in the desert. In this case the plant is the foreground for one of my favorite mountain range.
